Magnet programs offer the opportunity for students to discover their talents and explore their interests in a rigorous and engaging academic environment.

School Choice to Begin Accepting Magnet Applications for 2021-22 School Year

 

If you are interested in a magnet program for the 2021--2022 school year, the electronic application window will open on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 and will run through Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. No priority is given to when you apply as long as you apply by February 15th, 2021. Your child’s application will then go into the magnet lottery. All parents will be notified of the lottery results by email by the end of February 2021. If you child is offered a magnet seat, email sent will contain specific registration instructions.

 

What happens if I am offered a seat and it is not my first choice?


Be sure to select your choices in the order of preference. If you are offered a seat from the lottery, this seat offer will be the only seat offer you will receive. You may apply again once the summer waitlist application is available in May.

 

If you child is returning to Hillcrest next year, you do not need to reapply. Your child will continue to be a magnet student until the end of 5th grade.
