Dress Code

The dress and grooming of students shall contribute to the health and safety of the individual, promote a positive educational environment and not disrupt the educational activities and processes of the school: clothes shall be worn as they are designed – suspenders over the shoulders, pants secure at the waist, belts buckled, no underwear as outerwear, no underwear exposed; clothing with holes, tears, or inappropriate patches will not be allowed if considered obscene; bare midriffs and bare sides should not show even when arms are extended above the head; clothing that is too tight or revealing is unacceptable; hats, caps, visors, sunglasses, or bandannas while on campus are prohibited; hemlines of shorts, dresses, skirts, and skorts shall be no shorter than mid thigh; clothing must follow the four finger wide rule at the shoulder; shoes shall be worn. The following are not acceptable: flip flops, backless shoes and heeleys (shoes with wheels). Hats may be worn, but must be taken off during the school day. Lipstick and other makeup are not appropriate for elementary children. Clothing should be comfortable and should not be a distraction. All students are encouraged to wear their school uniform shirt.
